I think a legitimate challenge for me with writing a blog (or anything else) – aside from my own distractibility – is the sense that everything I write has to be “good”. Or, failing that, well researched. The reality is that I’m not accountable to anyone or any particular structure with a medium like this. I can just write “whatever” and let it be good enough, the same as I did with Twitter/Tumblr/etc.

Academia gave me a fetish for knowledge that doesn’t lend itself to frivolous/pointless writing, which is what I want to use this site for (mostly)….
